Weighed down by concerns over interest rates, the price of Bitcoin remains below $79,000, with a bleak outlook for recovery.

On Tuesday, Bitcoin was trading near 7.41 million rupees as the cryptocurrency market remained under pressure, with shifting expectations regarding U.S. interest rates continuing to influence market risk appetite. Ethereum (ETH) was trading near 230,000 rupees, while other major altcoins saw mixed performance. Market participants note that Bitcoin has shown resilience despite weak retail demand; however, rising Treasury yields and growing concerns over inflation are weighing on market sentiment, posing a significant challenge to any potential recovery for Bitcoin. According to CoinGecko, Bitcoin was trading near $78,500 (approximately 7.43 million rupees), and Ethereum was trading near $2,470 (approximately 230,000 rupees).
Data from the Gadgets 360 price tracker shows that Bitcoin—the world’s largest cryptocurrency—has fallen by 1% over the past 24 hours. Tensions in the Middle East and rising oil prices have fueled ongoing concerns about inflation ahead of the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting. Despite signs of weak retail demand, Bitcoin has maintained a relative degree of resilience.
On Tuesday, major altcoins saw mixed trading performance.
Binance Coin (BNB) was priced at approximately $751.00 (around 71,150 rupees), while Solana (SOL) traded near $102.94 (around 9,753 rupees). Ripple (XRP) stood at about $1.39 (around 132 rupees), and Dogecoin (DOGE) traded near $0.0895 (around 8.48 rupees).
ETF Demand and On-Chain Signals Strengthen Market Structure
Assessing Bitcoin’s recent price action and the impact of shifting interest rate expectations, the market analysis team at CoinSwitch noted: “Bitcoin’s latest movements highlight how closely the market reacts to changes in U.S. interest rate expectations. As U.S. Treasury yields dipped, Bitcoin climbed back toward $80,000; however, a stronger-than-expected employment report pushed yields higher, putting renewed pressure on risk assets and reversing that momentum.”
Prateek Gupta, Head of Business at Mudrex, highlighted Bitcoin’s resilience in the face of weakening demand signals and geopolitical concerns, stating: “Tensions in the Middle East have driven oil prices above $92 per barrel, reigniting inflation fears ahead of the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting. Both CryptoQuant’s ‘spot apparent demand’ metric and the Coinbase Premium index have turned negative, signaling soft retail demand. More importantly, Bitcoin has remained firm even as the Japanese yen surged 3.7% over three trading sessions. Given that a similar move in 2024 previously triggered a 20% plunge in Bitcoin’s price, its current stability suggests that underlying demand is significantly stronger.”
Despite Middle East tensions, rising oil prices, and weak retail demand indicators, Bitcoin has demonstrated resilience, pointing to robust underlying demand. Analysts are closely watching whether Bitcoin can reclaim and hold the $80,000 level, with $82,800 identified as the next target, while $78,400 serves as a key support level.
